On the occasion of the Games of the XXX Olympiad London 2012, Korea Post announced that two commemorative stamps would be released on July 27, 2012 when the London Olympics would be open.

Having hosted the Olympic Games in 1908 and 1948, London has become the first city in history to hold the Olympic Games three times. The 1948 London Olympic Games was meaningful in the sense that it was the first Olympic Games in which Korean players participated while wearing the name tag of “Korean Players.”
